Two months have passed since we witnessed the brutal genocide happening to the Palestinians and while many people around the world are demanding for a cease-fire, international brands are using their marketing to promote violence and terrorism against the Palestinians.
The global brand Zara launched an infuriating campaign as a subliminal message to support the genocide in Gaza and to support the Israeli military. The campaign went viral the second it was launched and immediately backfired.
Let’s see how Zara has used its marketing strategies to support terrorism.
#BoycottZara Hashtag Went Viral: Zara’s Marketing Campaign Dipped in Blood and Greed
Yesterday Zara sparked controversy by launching its newest campaign “The Jacket’s Stain”, the campaign was met with a backlash for representing the death and massacre of Palestinians.
The campaign consists of a series of photos that include models as if they are lifting a dead body and different symbols of the crimes committed in Palestine.
There was a huge backlash from the audience on social media on how this campaign is inhumane for delivering this brutal hidden message of supporting ethnical cleansing to the public.
We live in a dark, twisted, and disghusting world. Zara, McDonald's, Starbucks, and all the other genocide enabler brands can rot in hell. Shame on Zara!#BoycottZara pic.twitter.com/dJLd936T1y

Due to the immediate backlash from people on social media, Zara took down the campaign.
The Rules of Creating Ethical Campaigns and How Zara Broke Them
Each and every campaign we come across has to follow certain rules to be accepted and breaking them would end in a crisis, but not in Zara’s case.
Ethical campaigns’ main focus is to show the truth not to be biased towards certain ideologies or thinking. Zara’s campaign actually deviated from the meaning of an ethical campaign due to its subliminal messages that encouraged the massacre of the Palestinians.
Unethical marketing means marketing your product without manners, like making fun of or enjoying people’s suffering and murders, or discriminating against certain group of people, which is exactly what Zara did.
This campaign is an example of how the Western Media promotes propaganda. The only goal of this campaign is to promote propaganda and serve Israeli terrorism.
Campaigns are one of the many tools that the western media use to support Israel; the brand chose to resort to unethical tactics for a desired exposure through exploiting war crimes and bloodshed for the sake of trend jacking is not only insensitive but morally disgraceful.
Boycotting Inhumane Brands: Supporting Local Businesses
It has been over a month since the boycott started and while some people are giving up on their desires, Zara came as a wake-up call. It all started when McDonald’s gave free meals to the Israeli army and the clothing brand American Eagle put the Israeli flag on its billboard.
The boycott of Zara encouraged many people to take action against any crime and hate speech, also it encouraged us to turn our focus more to the local brands because they are the priority now and the main focus.
Local brands can increase our country’s economy and lead the way out of inflation. They give a chance to our youth to spread their creativity and art to the world, and it is time to show the global market that we are ethical and ready to compete.
Fashion as a Voice for Justice: Brands Supporting Palestine
While we witness the terrorist campaigns of international brands, there are others that support Palestine, for example, Aziz Bekkaoui’s brand.
Aziz Bekkaoui’s brand uses the famous Palestinian pattern in most of its designs. This type of brand is not just fashion, it is a message to people around the world telling them the truth about Palestine.
Your voice can reach everyone in different ways; fashion can be one of them. Writing on clothing is a way to deliver a message, or even certain colors, designs, and images. Fashion is one of the ways to deliver a message whether you are here to support innocent people or you are here to support the murderers.
The Biased Social Media Unravels The Truth
The power of social media is undeniable. While all platforms are trying to silence people, they are still able to talk, show support, and attack. This resulted in the removal of Zara’s campaign.
We have seen Israel’s army use their social media accounts to hide the truth and the crimes they are doing in Gaza by editing their content and framing it in a way that would clear their image to the public. They also use it to create videos mocking the victims and the ethnic cleansing happening to the Palestinians.
Despite the community standards imposed by social media platforms and the content by Israelis and pro-Israel, people are still talking about Palestine and attacking whoever support Israel.
The way people still talk is the main reason why Zara’s campaign was taken down.
Beyond Brands: Rethinking Values and Prioritizing Human Life
It’s time to shatter the illusion that material possessions, like well-known brands, define our worth. These are mere tools of a capitalist system designed to control our perceptions and desires. Let’s break free from this manufactured paradigm and embrace a more profound understanding of human value.
Instead of blindly following the dictates of fashion, let’s support local brands and businesses that align with our values, especially those that actively advocate for Palestinian freedom.
This is not about labels, but about taking a stand for what is right.
The time for silence is over. Let us awaken to a new way of thinking, one where our actions speak louder than any brand name ever could. Together, we can rise above the limitations imposed by a materialistic society and build a world defined by compassion, justice, and the unwavering pursuit of a peaceful future for all.
Many innocent lives have been lost this year, kids and families till this day are dying in Gaza. The Israeli army is not giving a chance for anyone to survive, it is a crime against humanity.
