For 80 days the black cloud rose over Gaza and it is still raining. There have been many celebrities and influencers speaking about what is happening in Gaza, but some of them are stating the truth and some are not. That is why always checking the source of the news is a vital thing to do to find the right and most clear news possible.
Being biased and not showing the world the truth is a way of unethical marketing. What do these fake influencers earn from spreading false information or claims? Maybe they will earn money, maybe they will gain authority, or what else they could benefit from? It is a shame that there is no humanity in people’s hearts when they think of their benefits over the lives of innocents.
Beyond Reach: When Attention Comes at the Cost of Humanity
Kim Kardashian the celebrity posted images and videos of presents under her Christmas tree; however, the wrapping of the gifts looks like the dead bodies of the innocent people in Gaza.
Kim Kardashian always tries to take the trend no matter what the cost. She is marketing her Brand SKIMS by using especially the white color in the wrapping of the presents under her Christmas tree. The way of wrapping and the white color resembles the covering of the dead bodies of Palestinians. Being biased and taking one side of the story and using it for your benefit as an influencer or a celebrity you might lose your credibility in the future.
Kim Kardashian has always been trying to follow the trend since 2014 when a viral photo of her was on the cover of PAPER Magazine. She broke the internet and that is how she always gains money and fame.
She is trying to take the trend because she knows that what she is doing will have a backlash. She didn’t learn from Zara’s “The Jacket” Campaign and how it backfired on them because they made statues that looked like dead bodies in Gaza.
Social Media Reaction
The social media backlash on Kim Kardashian was so real. As we can see people now are amazed that she didn’t learn from Zara and she did the exact opposite. Influencers and celebrities should learn from their past mistakes so they won’t lose their credibility.
One of the main reasons an influencer might lose his or her credibility is being biased toward certain topics and avoiding being neutral.
Shame on you @KimKardashian for posting this & mocking children dying.
You need some cosmetic surgery for your brain as well. Shame, shame on you. Heartless & brainless 😡😡 #gaza #PalestineWar #PalestineGenocide pic.twitter.com/M8wsqw5fPq

When Morality Takes a Backseat to Money and Fame on Social Media
Celebrities send subliminal messages through their marketing campaigns. Kim Kardashian was marketing her brand, but actually she was sending a subliminal message against Gaza through the resemblance of the Christmas gifts. Just like many celebrities do they don’t speak the truth just to gain money or fame; however innocent people pay the price.
We should understand and differentiate between the truth and the lie and always check the media source and its credibility. Nowadays media integrity is not easy to find due to many political agendas and celebrities who post false information and claims about different topics. That is why every social media user needs to be alert and take care of what we are listening to because maybe we are being brainwashed by unknown entities that support a certain cause.
Witnessing, Not Trending: Journalists Risk All to Bring Gaza’s Reality to Light
Always look for the right source to get your info. The famous journalist Motaz Aziza and others have shown the whole world what is truly happening in Gaza. People who were not aware of the massacre have seen everything through his brave eyes. This is what we call media integrity by showing credible information that everyone can rely on. The influencers and journalists who are showing the truth in Gaza are living with Palestinian citizens and witnessing the massacre they are not staying in their mansions taking pictures of their corps-looking gifts just to take the trend.
From Clicks to Censorship: How Social Media Silences the Suffering of Palestinians
Social Media has been biased since the beginning of the massacre. People try to share and post the truth; however, social media platforms are trying to hide it by saying “It is against community guidelines”. It is funny when celebrities post unethical or graphic videos on social media their content doesn’t get removed while other credible sources’ content gets removed. How it is called social media when you can’t share your thoughts and speak freely, where is the freedom of speech here? It is always hard to find the truth when we are living in a world where lies are the key to success and fame. Many people live their whole lives trying to find the truth.
Instagram issued an apology on October 20 for adding ‘terrorist’ to some Palestinian users’ bios. This is also a kind of subliminal message against Palestinian citizens. Even if they did apologize for it this actually never happened before when there was a problem between two countries.
We are not going to sit in silence anymore. We shouldn’t allow false claims and information to take control of our minds. We must always strive to find the truth and help others know it. We always need to share what the journalists and influencers post and show, so the world would know the difference between real and fake. The massacre by all means needs to stop with the help of everyone we can achieve this goal it is never too late.
