[dropcap style=”2″ color=”#f50a0a” text=”W”]ith the World Cup approaching in June, it is no surprise that this month’s YouTube Leaderboard focuses on football. Two slots in this month’s chart belong to Nike due to the unveiling of their #RiskEverything campaign featuring two videos, the first being ‘Winner Stays’ and the second being ‘Risk Everything’ in which football sensations including Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr., and Wayne Rooney make appearances.

The theme of football was also seen in adidas’ ‘Forever Blue’ spot promoting the new Chelsea home shirt. The Spider-Man spot by Evian featuring a computer-generated dancing baby version of Spider-Man was popular this month. A regional contribution also made it to the charts this month. Mobinil utilizes a hidden-camera format in its latest comedic spot featuring Zakia Zakaria to promote their weekly offer.

The Results:

Brand/Country: Nike
Creative Agency: Wieden + Kennedy
Viewership: 62,453,710

The YouTube Ads Leaderboard charts the ads people chose to watch this year (determined quantitatively via paid-to-organic view ratio and audience retention), not necessarily the “most watched” ads on YT. As such, these ads won’t be the ones with the highest view counts, but those that engaged their audience by using savvy promotion to ignite organic pass-along
