Social media channels are a great opportunity for local brands to grow and gain recognition but they achieve that with the help and support of people. Many people have stated previously on social media that there are Egyptian brands, especially fashion ones that can top international ones when it comes to quality, material, and design. This brings us to think, about why only a few Egyptian brands are known globally when there are many more who deserve this recognition.

Today we will discuss how local brands can have a positive role in shaping our economy and how we can support them.

When History Meets The Present

Ancient Egyptians loved fashion. It is very obvious from monuments that their clothing was designed, crafted, and worn with great care and pride. Just like we used to create our own clothes back then, we still do to this day but unfortunately, many local brands are not given the proper recognition.

Most local brands nowadays are owned by the young generation and they are on a high level of creativity and own an exceptional talent. As Egyptians, we should be proud of our local brands as they represent the creativity of our youth these days and also our culture in a modernized way. We also should show these brands our support to help them grow and represent us globally.

Local Brands Are Capable Of Competing

With the skills and creativity, our local brands have, they can compete against international brands.

The thought of wearing fashion-labeled clothes by international fashion houses is dominating our minds as many people believe that wearing expensive clothes and buying from international brands gives them value. This is one of the reasons why local brands are struggling with recognition and growth; the lack of support lessens the possibilities of making these local brands well-known fashion houses to the international world.

Aside from supporting these brands to gain the deserved recognition, most of these brands consider the economic state of the country and offer proper prices to their customers.

One of these local brands has actually made it to Hollywood; The Egyptian brand, Rigash was worn by the famous star Selena Gomez as she was spotted wearing an item from the brand.

In fact, many famous international brands use Egyptian cotton to make their products, so it’s time to put our country’s finest cotton into action.

The Impact Of Local Brands On The Economy

Local brands can be one of the main solutions to enhance the country’s economy.

As we have mentioned, supporting our local brands will end up providing them with the growth they need to enter the global market. This can have a huge positive impact on the Egyptian economy.

By exporting our local brands we bring in foreign currencies and this in return boosts our local economy. When local brands expand, it may also provide many job opportunities for different segments of society.

One of the factors that also will support the economic state is doing business internally. When brands collaborate with other Egyptian companies, it ensures that the money stays in the local economy, which will increase the tax revenue and hence will help our country to develop other industries and provide more enhanced services, such as better schools, better transportation, hospitals, and more.

The Influence Of Digital Media

As digital media made the world like one small village, people have become well aware of everything new in the international market.

The consumers are well aware of which type of fashion is suitable for them, they also love brands that are transparent and clear, and they admire the brands that deliver promising products with high quality and innovative designs.

Customer satisfaction is one of the key factors to help a brand succeed. Customers always reflect on their experiences and share them with others. Depending on this experience brands can either win more potential customers or simply lose them gradually.

Also, brands use digital media to run special offers and discounts as it is a way to always gain customer loyalty and satisfaction, which in return broadens the market.

Brands should always communicate with their customers through different digital channels such as social media platforms and E-commerce websites such as Amazon. Amazon is one of the apps that also has a very strong impact on people from all generations. It is considered one of the strongest online market apps with lots of various products at competitive prices. It also targets consumers who find it difficult to go shopping and would rather do online shopping.

What We Can Do To Help Young Designers

We need to provide young fashion designers with an opportunity to gain worldwide recognition among other international fashion houses.

Support can come in many different ways, you can support a brand by buying their products and promoting them on your social media through UGC ‘User Generated Content’ and you can also promote through word of mouth.

These local brands should also work on their marketing strategy and seek opportunities for development to gain more popularity.

To conclude, all of the international brands started small and locally but with persistence, smart marketing, and support, they became what they are today.
