Vodafone Egypt 8,000,000 fans marks Egypt’s #1 Facebook fan page and largest telecom brand audience surpassing Mobinil [7.2M fans] and Etisalat [6.9M fans].

Egypt is the heart of the Middle East. With approximately 48 Million internet users and more than 26 Million Egyptian users on Facebook, if you want to top Social Media in Middle East and North Africa, you’ve got to have Egypt.

Vodafone Egypt has grown over the years to become the leading mobile operator in Egypt, not only in revenue share but also to become the number 1 mobile operator in Middle East with the largest Facebook fan base.

Vodafone Egypt Social Media team working daily from 9 am to 12 am to serve and engage Vodafone customers via different Social Media channels mainly focusing on Facebook and Twitter.

Back in 2011 Vodafone Egypt reached the first milestone on Facebook hitting 1 million fans and today with 8 Million Total fans [Local fans: 7.2 Million], Vodafone Egypt tops all telecom operators presence on Social Media in Middle East and North Africa region.

In 1998, Vodafone Egypt (Ex Misrfone Telecommunication Company/Click GSM) entered the Egyptian telecom market as the second operator; a consortium between Vodafone international, Air Touch, and  local/  international partners. In 1999, Vodafone Group acquired Air Touch share and in 2002, it acquired International Partner VIVENDI  France share. In  January 2002, Click GSM was rebranded to Vodafone Egypt. Since 2007, Vodafone Egypt’s shareholders structure consisted of  Vodafone Group with 54.93% ; Telecom Egypt with  44.94% and a minority free float of  0.13%.
