Over the years, we have witnessed many brands change their logos.

Do you remember when you became aware of social media platforms and the digital world? Probably from 15 to 20 years ago. If you were born in the 90s then you probably remember some of the tech companies’ old logos when they were just startups. But, if you were born before that and was a tech geek, then you probably will remember some of these logos.

In both cases, we are about to introduce you to old logos that will either give you a whiff of nostalgia or a gasp of surprise.

But before presenting you with the old logos, we have to tell you why brands decide to change their logos and the process they go through.

A Long Logo Transformation Process

The logo is the most essential part of a brand or a company as it is its official representation. People identify brands from their logos, so each brand’s logo has to be different and unique so people can recognize it.

Each time a brand or a company decides to rebrand itself, they make changes in their logo. When a logo goes through an evolution, it goes through many levels and takes a long process to reach a final result.

A graphic designer has to be creative when changing a logo. They must create something that’s more catchy than the old one but follows the same track, so people can still recognize it.

Also, the logo has to be tested before launching to get a glimpse of how people might react to it. And of course, the brand’s owner must approve.

Why Brands Change Their Logos

Everything evolves over time. So, to cope and keep up with the changes that are happening around you, your brand must evolve to be in parallel with the current time.

Although a change is a must and a logo has to evolve, we sometimes miss the old logos we grew up having.

We are listing you below some of the old logos of well-known tech brands.

Brands’ Old Logo

Going through these logos, you will find yourself remembering some of them. For example, since Facebook is not an old platform, we all remember how its first logo looked like.

Also, if you used Hotmail back then, then you probably remember its logo, but here comes the surprise, Hotmail had another logo before the one we all knew.

The huge tech brands Apple and Microsoft are some of the brands that had a very different logo back in the 70s. Along with Apple and Microsoft, comes Amazon which launched its logo in 1994. The list also includes the very first logo of Instagram that was launched in 2010, along with Skype, MySpace, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and many more.

You will definitely enjoy this collection of these old logos.
