Jumia, the leading e-commerce website in Egypt announced a sales increase by up to 5 times the normal daily sales in the first hour of Black Friday, breaking Black Friday record with 20,000 items ordered in the first hour. Jumia started “Black Friday” offering special deals and discounts of up to 75% across its large assortment of products, including electronic devices, home and living products, fashion, service deals, sport products and toys.
This year Jumia’s Black Friday disrupted the online e-commerce offers which provided great saving day for all customers. Within 24 hours, JUMIA reached an all-time peak in sales, seeing an extraordinary tenfold increase in orders. Customers’ favorite deals, many of them sold out within a few hours, consisted of flatscreen TVs, laptops and health and beauty. Over 67% of the visitors accessed the site through a mobile device via Android or iOS.
