What To Know About EXPO 2020
As it was mentioned, the event is the biggest and the first to take place in the MEASA region and it will continue for 6 months. From the 1st of October 2021 to the 31st of March 2022, the event will include the best of art, architecture, technology, music, and culture from around the world.

The Eventâs Theme
The event is inspired by the Expoâs theme of âConnecting Minds, Creating The Futureâ; it will welcome visitors from all around the world to witness making a new world and reimagining the future. It is the biggest cultural gathering in the world, as it will work on exchanging new perspectives and inspiring actions to drive real-life solutions to real-world problems.
The event has subthemes, which are opportunity, mobility, and sustainability to showcase the deep-rooted values of the UAE and the vision and purpose of the event. It is also gathering the worldâs brightest minds for the Program for People and Planet, which will urge the visitors to keep our planet safe
Itâs also worth mentioning that Expo was originally set to be held in 2020 but with the outbreak of COVID-19, it was postponed to 2021, and it is making sure that attendees are following the latest guidance of the worldâs leading medical health experts.

One Of A Kind Opening Ceremony
Many global talents will perform at the opening ceremony, which will take place at the iconic Al-Wasl Plaza on the 30th of September.
Attendees will enjoy mind-blowing performances of stunning visuals, and music from some of the worldâs creative minds, internationally renowned artists, and emerging talents. The opening ceremony will host performances from the world-famous tenor Andrea Bocelli, Grammy-nominated, Golden Globe-winning actress, singer, and songwriter Andra Day; Platinum-selling British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding; international mega-star pianist Lang Lang; and four-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo.
To add diversity and authenticity, there will be performances from regional icons like the âArtist of Arabsâ Mohamed Abdo, much-loved Emirati singing sensation âFananat Al Arabâ Ahlam Alshamsi; Emirati Artist and Expo 2020 Dubai Ambassador Hussain Al Jassmi, a trendsetter on the Khaleeji music scene in the Middle East and Internationally; rising UAE singer-songwriter Almas, and Grammy-nominated Lebanese-American singer Mayssa Karaa.

The wider team is led by executive producer and CEO of FiveCurrents, Scott Givens, whose credits include 62 iconic ceremonies, including the most Olympic Ceremonies ever, and Franco Dragone, acclaimed artistic director of ground-breaking productions such as La Perle and Cirque du Soleil, and Jared Sweet, the award-winning creative director behind ceremonies spanning six countries.
