Cadbury recently announced that it is one of the first brands in Egypt to join the new advertising services provided by Instagram. Instagram had just announced the launch of its advertising services for various brands worldwide allowing them to target their Instagram fans through a new technique providing links of their ads on targeted profiles and getting immediate ad interactivity.

“We were very enthused to be one of the first advertisers on Instagram ads in Egypt with the presence of more than 400 million Instagram users worldwide, making it one of the most important mobile advertising platforms”, says Sherien Ezzat, Senior Category Manager, Chocolates, Mondelez Egypt & North Africa.

In addition, Instagram allows advertisers a new way to monitor the performance of the ad, control and schedule its posting date, as is the case in the Facebook.

“Our first Instagram ad was a video for Eid Al Adha greetings promoting chocolate Cadbury in no more than 30 seconds.  The Statistics provided by Instagram for advertisers indicated that this video has reached more than half a million Egyptians, with more than 21 thousand interactions.  We have also noted a significant increase in the number of those who follow our Instagram account jumping up to 3times in just 4 days, and this is something worth noting”, added Sherien.

In this way, brands can focus more on direct sales and provide other services through Instagram ads such as downloading applications or software, or following other events, directly from the same ad.
