What is YouTube Creator Awards:
When a verified YouTuber reaches a specific milestone, they are awarded a relatively flat, metal (silver and gold) or plastic (diamond) trophy shaped like the YouTube play button symbol. The trophies are in different sizes and stored in plaques. Each button and plaque get progressively bigger the greater the milestone. However, Ruby Play Buttons break this trend as detailed below.
There are four levels of YouTube Play Button:
The Silver Play Button, for channels with 100,000 subscribers.
The Gold Play Button, for channels with 1,000,000 subscribers.
The Diamond Play Button, for channels with 10,000,000 subscribers.
The Ruby Play Button, for channels with 50,000,000 subscribers.
Unlike the other Play Buttons, the Ruby Play Button comes in a large wooden chest with the YouTube play button symbol engraved on it.
The actual award inside the chest is a large, translucent red trophy custom-modeled after a three-dimensional representation of the YouTuber’s channel icon at the time they reached the milestone. This button was introduced in December 2016 when Swedish video game commentator Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg became the first person on YouTube to reach this milestone
