England vs. Sweden: Zlatan Ibrahimovic has proposed a brilliant offer with former teammate David Beckham in relation to the anticipated World Cup quarter final game between Sweden and England tomorrow.

Ibrahimovic, 36, was not included in the Sweden squad for the finals in Russia despite saying in April that he would be picked, adding: “A World Cup without me wouldn’t be a World Cup.”

As a result,, Ibra decided to spice up the World Cup by challenging David Beckham on Social Media as if they give us one more reason to watch the World Cup quarter-final:

Yo @davidbeckham if @England wins I buy you dinner where ever you want in the world, but if Sweden wins you buy me what ever I want from @IKEASverige ok? pic.twitter.com/9z9xx89JjS

But the Swedish striker isn’t aware that Beckham isn’t on Twitter; he’s tagged another account with the same Twitter handle that has 16,000 followers and 0 tweets.

But Victoria Beckham’s official Twitter account was involved to pass the message for her husband.

The Manchester United and England legend is active on Instagram though and Beckham was quick to reply with a proposition of his own. It involves an England shirt, fish and chips and Wembley Stadium.

The former England captain ups the stakes by offering to personally take Ibrahimovic to IKEA

Both sets of fans will be aware that in the last meeting between the two sides, it was the Zlatan show. Six years ago, he marked the opening of Sweden’s new national stadium by scoring four, including the Puskas Award winning goal, in a thrilling 4-2 victory.

Sweden v England: IKEA wins!

All marketers know that one of the oldest brand strategies is celebrity endorsement. For brands digital exposure, the easiest and most compelling way is to have someone famous eat, wear, drive, walk in or just say something nice about your brand.

We are not quite sure if Zlatan Ibrahimovic vs David Beckham social media challenge is a planned celebrity endorsement or it just happened for the Swedish brand to be involved in spontaneously. In both cases, IKEA got the digital exposure and made headlines… Thanks for the Swedish and British football legends.

Sweden’s quarter-final clash with England at World Cup 2018 could be the most anticipated match in the tournament now.

Ibrahimović said the ex-footballer and model has to treat him to anything he wants at an IKEA furniture store. Ex-England captain Beckham will understandably be rooting for the Three Lions and could have extra reason to celebrate if the Three Lions side come out on top.

Yo @Ibra_official. When Sweden wins and you bring @davidbeckham we will treat you with Köttbullar and lingonberry. Hope medium size is okay?

The two players were teammates at Paris Saint-Germain when Beckham ended his career in the French capital and have remained close teammate taking Zlatan out for dinner and playing a part in his decision to move to MLS side LA Galaxy, his former side.

The L.A. Galaxy, the current team which employs Ibrahimović and once starred Beckham, confirmed the agreement via Twitter.

What will be the winner’s route to the World Cup final?
The victors progress to a semi-final against the winners of Russia vs Croatia, which takes place in Sochi after the end of this game.
