The oldest of the Seven Wonders of the World served as the stage for a breathtaking display of adrenaline and speed, as Belgian stunt jumper Cédric Dumont performed the first-ever wingsuit flight over the Pyramids of Giza.

“This was one of my favorite jumps,” Dumont told Scoop Empire. “It’s in the top three, because of the visuals. It was insane, seeing the pyramids, and seeing them get bigger and bigger.”

It’s not the first time that he has visited Egypt. He had previously attempted a BASE jump from the Cairo Tower in 2012, which was cancelled due to risky wind conditions. This flight was made possible thanks to cooperation from Egypt’s Ministries of Defense, Youth & Sports as well as Antiquities and the General Secretariat.

Dumont’s stunt had to be cleared with Egypt’s Ministry of Defense, sponsor Red Bull noted, but it was well worth the effort.

They are one of the most visited attractions in the world, an ancient wonder immortalised by Hollywood. Recently, they got a new visitor – Cédric Dumont, who made the first-ever wingsuit flight over the iconic landmarks, landing at the steps of the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Flying over the pyramids has such a mystical and unmatched energy, one of the most incredible flights I have ever performed,” Dumont told Red Bull.

Till now, Dumont has pulled off more than 10,000 skydives and 2,000 BASE jumps. He has records for some of the highest BASE jumps in history, as well as the lowest (35 meters). And needless to say, he’s better at sightseeing than any of us.
