The event comes a little more than ten years after Steve Jobs unveiled the very first iPhone on stage in San Francisco. That small rectangle has been responsible for making Apple one of the largest companies in the world. Now the iPhone accounts for nearly 70% of Apple’s revenue. Customers and investors have been waiting for a big iPhone upgrade, which CEO Tim Cook even blamed for slower than usual iPhone sales last year.

Apple’s 2017 iPhone event: How to watch

The company will live stream the event on its website here. Viewers need to be running the correct software on their Apple or Windows devices, which are listed on the Apple page.

Apple’s 2017 iPhone and Apple Watch keynote kicks off at 10 a.m. Pacific (1 p.m. Eastern / 5 p.m. UTC) on September 12 in Cupertino at Apple Park’s Steve Jobs Theater. Here’s how to watch the event live:

  • iPhone, iPad, iPod TouchSafari (iOS 9.0+)
  • WindowsMicrosoft Edge (Windows 10) or download the VLC media player. Look for the “media” tab and then “open network” stream. The link won’t be known until the event starts, but we’ll update with it here when it appears.
  • Android: Download the VLC app for Android. Then follow the same instructions as above.
  • Apple TV: Apple Events app (2nd generation+ running 6.2+) or Apple TV 4th generation.

The first-ever event at the Steve Jobs Theater.

The press conference will be the first time Apple has held a large event at its new “spaceship” campus, which is expected to be completed later this year.

The biggest mystery remaining may be what, exactly, the Steve Jobs theater looks like inside. The event starts at 10am PT / 1pm ET and will be live-streamed online.
