In a new announcement that was just released yesterday, Google stated that VEO, the new enhanced model of VEO, the AI-powered video generator, is now available in the MENA region.
The model will be available through Gemini starting April 15th and will come in two languages, Arabic and English, for all Gemini Advanced users, who will be able to turn their texts and prompts into “high-resolution, detailed videos with cinematic realism,” as stated by Google.
VEO 2: A New Era of Cinematic Realism
VEO is an AI model created by Google DeepMind, a subsidiary of Google that specializes only in artificial intelligence research and building AI-powered tools. It was first launched last year with the mission of making video creation more accessible.
What made VEO peculiar among other tools was its ability to understand text prompts faster and more accurately, with the output matching exactly what the user would describe.
With the AI video-generating tools going from 1 to 1000 quickly, Google DeepMind started working on updating the model to be able to keep up with the fast pace of the AI landscape.
VEO 2 is now introduced as a “state-of-the-art video model.” The model was trained to precisely understand and learn human movement and expressions to be able to generate videos as realistic as possible.
In addition, the VEO 2 model comes equipped with advanced cinematography capabilities, allowing video creators to edit their prompts based on professional filmmaking elements. This includes the genre, camera lens type, shooting style, zoom-ins, and so on. All of these elements will easily allow creators to orchestrate the video and go beyond any limits that they have known with AI video-generating tools.
The lifelike nature of the videos stands as a major pro for Google’s VEO 2 model, as it completely blurs the gap that once existed with the usual outputs from AI video generators being cartoonish or unnatural to a great extent.
A Game-Changer for the MENA Region
VEO 2’s debut in the MENA region is a strategic and timely move. It gives local creatives access to a powerful tool that can speak their language, literally, both linguistically and creatively.
With support for prompts in the Arabic language, the tool can enable many brands and agencies, or anyone in the creative field, to produce localized, high-quality videos.
It is safe to say that this lowers, or even completely erases, the barrier to entry for the MENA region to the latest AI market updates. This move positions the MENA region at the forefront of the AI-powered solution that will, in turn, give a chance to the creatives in all fields.
In Conclusion
While still in its early rollout, and too early for a definitive verdict, VEO 2 holds great potential that can influence major improvements in the AI space. The focus on cinematic realism and human motion, as well as high resolutions, will elevate this model’s status and give it a bigger say among other tools. If its current trajectory continues, Google could redefine the standards of visual production in the AI era.
