Gen Z. A word and a letter. However, the power this generation holds is one that the market may have been missing for quite sometime now.  Now that it is up and running… people are kind of in awe of this generation’s way of handling their lives. Talk about a generation that is indeed balancing their work/life routine.

They’re going the extra mile to create their own imprint on the market. The question is about the way they’re doing it. Some say they’re smart, some say they’re loud, and some say they’re simply naggy. So which is true? And what are the correct ways to implement a nice Gen Z campaign that shows how this generation markets for itself? Scroll down to know.

The Art of Marketing For Oneself

Being creative in your marketing strategy for yourself is not about speaking the loudest. And this is something that Gen Z knows. That is why this generation displays the added value they have. They highlight the benefits. They show you what they have to offer and how it will impact your business and marketing positively. For example: Locken shared a story of “فاعلة خير.” This certain individual sent them an email marketing for her best friend to be Locken’s next model and how they’ll miss a lot on their sales if they don’t hire her. However, it didn’t end at that.

The girl, aka Sandy, whom Locken loved to share her name after her smart and witty email, negotiated what’s in it for her. Other than being her friend’s representative, she demanded that Locken’s team pay her in products and not money, as she’s one of their biggest fans. So not only did she show brand loyalty but also assertiveness in her pitch. Sandy simply presented the best Gen Z pitch out there. A pitch that shows how she’ll add value and should take a return on her offer. Brilliant is an understatement.

The Pitch That Has to Be Noticed

Pitches have to be strong. And if you’re pitching yourself and not an idea, then you have to make it THE STRONGEST. That is exactly what some did when they heard that Tarek Nour is opening up an internship. Because what would be better than joining one of the biggest creative agencies that literally has the best history in ad creation in the MENA region? Nothing. That is why a lot of new Gen Zs who are joining the pit of adulthood started creating videos on how they’re relentlessly seeking acceptance from Tarek Nour.

One girl was even rejected many times until she actually got accepted from the number of videos that show how she wants the job and is creative enough for it. The power of social media? Check. Finding your voice and being charismatic? Check again. However, some found that making videos imploring a certain media company to accept you for their internship is some kind of nagging rather than a successful pitch. But some say that it worked so why not?

Gen Z’s Self-Marketing Summary

It’s not about being super loud, as I said; it’s about being confident and coming up with something of value. A market solution, a bold idea that cannot be refused. Millennials may have strived to prove themselves as they were super stuck with only showcasing their abilities on paper, like on their résumés.

However, Gen Z as a generation is leveraging the power of social media. Moreover, the power of wanting to be successful yet not overloading themselves with work while they forget to live. This is a generation that is depending on its voices, ideas, and, of course, its mental health awareness. So, would you hire a Gen Z that marketed themselves to you through ways that are not traditional? Or rather, stay safe with CV viewing and filtering?
