Welcome To Amazon.eg

As of today, we say goodbye to Souq.com and welcome its brand new identity, Amazon.eg.

The new application will provide a great and easy shopping experience with low prices and a wide selection. Amazon.eg will include millions of products from both local and international brands from all categories, electronics, apparel, home and kitchen, and grocery. Customers will also find Amazon products and devices such as Kindle e-readers, which is one of the most famous Amazon products among bookworms.

Amazon Egypt Country Manager, Omar Elsahy said,

Today marks a proud day for Souq.com and Amazon, a day we have been working toward since the two companies came together. Amazon.eg brings together Souq.com’s local know-how and Amazon’s global expertise, something we believe will be of significant value to customers across Egypt.

Amazon will include a local workforce of over 3000 employees to work in customer service and operations as well as a growing operational infrastructure.

It is also worth mentioning that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended the opening of the Amazon Fulfillment Center in the 10th of Ramadan City, in the Sharkia Governorate. Among the attendees are Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Sharkia and Counselor, and Mohamed Abdel Wahab, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).

An Easy Process To Become An Amazon Customer

Transferring customers from Souq to Amazon is an easy, hassle-free process.

Customers don’t have to worry about their data; every Souq customer’s account along with its credentials, wish lists. Orders, delivery address, payment methods, and customer support queries will safely move to Amazon. Amazon will still offer free delivery on orders above 350 EGP with Same-Day and Next-Day delivery options available across select cities in Egypt.

They will also enjoy an easy payment process and fast and reliable delivery as everything on the application is backed by Amazon’s award-winning customer service.

Customers will have 24/7 access to Amazon’s customer service support; so, if any customer has a problem with Amazon’s selling partner or is unsatisfied with the delivered product, they can contact the service team for support.

Sellers On Amazon

Sellers will enjoy an excellent and easy experience same as customers.

Egyptian businesses of all sizes can sell on Amazon as they will enjoy access to easy listing tools, safe payment processing, and special features to help them gain more recognition among customers; these features include coupons and simplified logistics solutions with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). FBA will receive sellers’ products and will handle the rest of the process.

We are so thrilled by Amazon’s official launch and we can’t wait to see people’s reviews.
