Since its establishment 10 years ago, Riseup Summit has long been the intersection point for innovation across all industries in the MENA region. And this year, it’s going above and beyond to deliver the same unparalleled experience for one sector in particular: retail!

RiseUp Retail is the first retail-focused summit in Egypt’s history, happening on the 9th and 10th of June at the multi-purpose business hub, District 5, where a variety of retail businesses, service providers and retail enthusiasts are expected to join.

So, let us walk you through the event and how it will serve as a gateway to success for local and regional businesses . . .

Partnering for the first time with famed developer Marakez and their mixed-use business hub –District 5-, RiseUp will hold its retail summit in the developer’s latest project that has served as a lively venue for multiple exhibitions and events over the past year.

Participating as a joint event is Bazarna Society’s Bazarna Summer Expo; Egypt’Fƒƒs largest shopping exhibition that gathers 250+ local and promising brands in the same place.

“RiseUp Retail, the first retail-specific event in the country, is an opportunity to bring the innovative and technological sector of the ecosystem together with Bazarna’s small and medium enterprise retailers in order to properly equip the retail industry with the resources they need to launch forward into the future,” – Abdelhameed Sharara cofounder and CEO of RiseUp.

RiseUp Retail’s Ground-breaking Features

RiseUp is bringing many of RiseUp Summit’s beloved features into RiseUp Retail:

Talks, Panels & Fireside Chats

If there’s one thing RiseUp excels at, it’s curating a substantial number of trailblazing innovators and speakers under the same roof. And at RiseUp Retail, things won’t be too different.

In addition to that, some of these speakers are managers and representatives of reputable brands such as Unilever, TikTok, Amazon Egypt, BTECH, Palma, TBS, In Your Shoe, Homz Mart, Valu, FP7 McCann, and many more.

Workshops Throughout the Weekend

The 2-day event will also be running workshops throughout the weekend, accessible to all exhibitors and ticket-buyers. Workshops will be held by some of the most up-and-coming local brands such as 2oolamememe.

Matchmaking Features for Exhibitors

Another unique-to-RiseUp benefit is their matchmaking feature. RiseUp Retail will be offering the following:

  • Talent matchmaking— matching companies with talented and promising candidates for hiring.
  • Mentor matchmaking— matching companies with industry experts for business guidance.
  • Investor matchmaking— matching companies with investors to pitch their brands to.
  • B2B matchmaking— matching retailers with service providers, manufacturers, and so forth to grow their business.

As for service providers, they are any business that empowers the retail industry with a service, such as suppliers, e-commerce providers, marketing & PR providers, transportation couriers, wholesalers; and so forth.

And they will be featured in RiseUp’s booths, panel discussions, talks, and workshops.
