Ousta, a leading company in the on-demand transporting of individuals via application-based modern car service, announced today that it has won an award under the ‘Best tech projects in the Arab world’ category at the 16th edition of HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Awards. Nine other Arab winners of the award will be honored for best tech projects. The winning companies represent both public and private sectors in seven Arab countries, including Saudi , Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Palestine, Jordan and Egypt.

The Judging Committee of HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Awards, organized by an independent global non-profit foundation, includes a group of technical experts and specialists in the informatic field from government and academic agencies, and international organizations in the Arab world. It is expected that Emir of Kuwait HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will attend the annual awards ceremony, scheduled to be held under his patronage at the end of November. The total value of the awards is estimated at $200,000, by $20,000 for each winner.

Ousta is one of the outstanding startup projects and the only Egyptian winning application in this edition. Oman received two awards in the public sector, each of Saudi Arabia and the UAE won an award in the public sector, while each of Jordan and Palestine secured three awards in the private sector.

Nader El-Batrawi, Founder and Chairman of Ousta, expressed his deep gratitude for receiving HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award.

He said “We are proud to receive such a prestigious international award which honored our tireless efforts since inception and are determined as Egyptian-Arabs to be part of the global technology based revolution in the transportation industry. We have developed a world class application for transporting individuals on-demand through modern cars while providing a competitive service.”

El-Batrawi added “The coming period will witness a remarkable development in the expansion strategy of our services in the Egyptian market. This move will reflect our commitment to creating an integrated system to provide competitive services for individuals as well as offering a favorable environment for the car owners within the Ousta community. The company offers its services in 11 cities all over Egypt, including Cairo, Giza, Ismailia, Zagazig, Suez, Alexandria, Mansoura, Hurghada, Tanta, Mahala and Menofia.”

Ousta primary focus is on the safety element during the transporting of individuals through connecting them with a modern and sophisticated network of cars. The company has a unique application feature SOS button to support riders in case of emergencies and discloses the identity of its drivers for the customers, including (full name – the vehicle number – Identification Card – official documents of the vehicle – a proper behavior testimony  – drug test).
