While this summer Instagram said its monthly active users had hit 500M, doubling its active usage in two years. Facebook is expanding the availability of its Instagram Windows 10 app to both PC and tablets.
Following the launch of its app on Windows Mobile in April, Instagram has finally brought its visual social network to Windows desktops as a standalone app.
Instagram’s Windows 10 app is a universal app and it’s now making its way to PCs and tablets as a result. Instagram has still not built a tailored app for the iPad, and Apple’s tablet users have to use an unoptimized iPhone version.
Starting today, you can now install the popular image sharing app right to your Windows 10 PC, Surface, or laptop. But not for Xbox or HoloLens, yet.
Instagram for Windows 10 comes with all the features you’d expect, including Instagram Stories, Direct and Explore. It also has a Live Tile showing newly posted sandwich photos and notifications on the home screen.
