SpaceApps is a NASA incubator innovation program. The International Space Apps Challenge is a two-day HACKATHON where teams of technologists, scientists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, developers and students across the globe collaborate and engage with publicly available data to design innovative solutions for global challenges.
Last year this event was “the largest hackathon in the history” with 9000 participants competing against one another building awesome apps, software and hardware projects that literally put “NASA data” in the spotlight. The objective was to create applications that NASA and the world could use.
NASA is leading this global collaboration along with a number of additional government collaborators and local partner organizations. This year it will run in more than 125 locations throughout the globe and Egypt will take part of it for the first time.
The event embraces collaborative problem solving with a goal of producing relevant OPEN-SOURCE solutions to advance space exploration missions and improve life on Earth.
Space Apps Challenge invites you for first time to attend the event in Egypt. The competition will take place in Nile University campus in El Sheikh Zayed. for more info visit the official Space Apps Cairo website.
