In Egypt, fast food has its own hype. Adults, teenagers, and specifically children choose it to be their go-to favorite pick. Under such circumstances, convincing people that home-cooked meals could be a rival for their go-to fried chicken restaurant is not an easy thing to do. However, Knorr got ready to take on the challenge, and they did so by implementing their own twist.

Knorr did so by introducing KBM without any mention of Knorr being behind it. KDM is a food truck that rolled into District 5 in June. The truck started making a buzz, and people started going specifically to try their fried chicken that everyone was hyped on. The secret? Marketing brilliance that delivered an important message: Your home is the new top-visited restaurant in town. But how did they do that? And what was the secret behind KBM? This is what we will uncover in this article.

The Mystery Did The Hooking

The KBM truck looked sharp, sounded legit, and served golden, juicy broasted chicken that quickly gained a cult following. KBM also had its own social media presence, complete with cryptic teasers like “No More Secret Recipes.” No logos. No hints. Just mystery and hype.

From TikTok foodies to everyday diners, everyone was impressed and went on raving about the quality. They even compared it to big names like KFC and Bazooka. But with no backstory or branding in sight, people couldn’t help but wonder, what’s the story behind KBM?

A Fried Chicken Obsession—With a Hidden Ingredient

The truck wasn’t just a social media stunt. It was a campaign that Knorr crafted and designed carefully to challenge the idea that restaurant-quality fried chicken could only come from, well, a restaurant. Behind the scenes, this wasn’t a new fast food franchise. It was Knorr. Every crispy bite, every juicy strip, and every saucy sandwich was made using Knorr’s new Broast Mix. Knorr’s brilliance lies in coming up with a solution to a problem people thought would never be solved. Moreover, they did so by letting the product speak and prove itself before even attaching their name to it.

When Knorr stepped forward and showed everyone that everything people had been obsessing over was made with Knorr’s Broast Mix, the reaction proved the success of the campaign. Shock. Applause. Brand love. Knorr had proven their point: with the right ingredients, anyone can cook fast food–level fried chicken at home. It’s not impossible, it’s healthier, and it would make all the moms the chefs their children have been waiting for.

Marketing Lessons to learn From Knorr’s KBM Campaign

The art of creating a successful marketing campaign comes with inspiring others to reach the same levels of success. That is why here are some marketing lessons that Knorr made sure we know and learn:

  • Create the hype through mystery: Hide your brand to spark curiosity.
  • Showcase your product live: Let quality speak before revealing the brand.
  • Leverage the power of social media: Use influencers and challenges to drive better engagement rates.
  • Simplify your audience’s access to certain things: Make complex products out there and feel easy to use.
  • Engage your community by offering a solution: Tie campaigns to local problems and offer your product as an efficient solution for credibility.
  • Time the Reveal: Unveil your brand at peak anticipation.
  • Involve Audience: Use interactive elements to turn fans into your brand’s loyal advocates.

More Than a Campaign

In the end, Knorr’s Broast Mix (KBM) wasn’t just about fried chicken. It was about changing minds. It gave Knorr a chance to build credibility while showing every home cook that they don’t have to order fast food–level flavor in. Proving to their kids that homemade fried chicken can be both healthy and fast-food tasty. It’s more than doable in your mom’s kitchen. So, have you tried the Knorr Broast Mix yet? Your home could be the next best fried chicken restaurant in town.
