Google Trips: Google’s next-generation travel guide app for iOS and Android

The search giant just launched a travel guide application for planning trips vacations for travelers. The newly launched application by Google works offline. Google personalized travel planner adds huge value to the user by combing through your Gmail to check for plane tickets and hotel reservations.

Google Trips is a personalized tour guide in your pocket. Each trip contains key categories of information, including day plans, reservations, things to do, food & drink, and more, so you have everything you need at your fingertips. The entire app is available offline — simply tap the “Download” button under each trip to save it to your phone.

On each city’s screen, a variety of colorful cards help you jump into various sections like “Saved places,” “Day Plans,” “Food & Drink,” “Getting around,” “Things to do,” “Reservations,” and more.

The app features various sample itineraries for the ‘top 200’ cities in the world, including popular sights and attractions deemed interesting by other travelers. Of course, you can make custom itineraries too; tap the ‘+’ button on the ‘day plan’ tile to select attractions from a map view. Trips will number each location on the map so you have everything neat and organized.

There’s also ‘magic wand’ button that will automatically add nearby sights if you’re in too much of a hurry investigate and plan ahead on your own, and you can even specify what times of the day you’re free to wander.
