The latest Facebook mobile App addition comes in the form of a small rocket icon that has been dropped in next to your friends and notification buttons. The feature has been brought to suggest News Feed based on users’ current likes and interests, as well as post popular among their friends.

The rocket ship icon is actually a second Facebook’s New Feed that the social media website is currently experimenting on mobile platforms through its app.

According to TechCrunch reports, The rocket ship feature being tested on Facebook, featuring suggested content based on your current likes and interests, as well as posts popular with your friends.

A Facebook spokesman said: “We are testing a complementary feed of popular articles, videos, and photos, customised for each person based on content that might be interesting to them.

“We’ve heard from people that they want an easy way to explore new content they haven’t connected with yet.”

That second news feed displays pictures, articles and other posts from sources that you haven’t explicitly followed, but that it believes you would be interested in seeing.

The icon is featuring at a different position, depending on difference in operating systems, iOS or Android.
