Careem, one of Egypt’s leading car service providers, will be celebrating World Autism Day in the heart of Cairo at the Cairo Tower in partnership with the Egyptian Association for Autism, and under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministries of Interior, Local Development, Antiquities, and the 57357 Cancer hospital in Egypt.
Hadeer Shalaby, the General Manager at Careem, expressed the importance of having Careem support such an event, saying ‘We encouraged our customers to donate ten pounds each to support the Egyptian Society for Autism, and for every donation made on April 2nd, Careem will match that donation by adding another 10 pounds to each of those donations made’.
Careem will further support the cause by adding a slogan on their phone service application; “Careem for Autism’. Customers will have an option of donating 10 pounds by choosing clicking on the ‘Careem for Autism’ option on the application. The campaign will run for the duration of one week. Careem strongly believes in supporting and giving back to the community in which they operate, and social responsibility is the core of their business model.
Dalia Suliman, Head of The Egyptian Association for Autism, said; “We are celebrating World Autism Day to help raise awareness of this disease, which many people are unaware of. We have the support of several entities and important historical buildings around Egypt contributing to the cause, by lighting those buildings in blue in support of World Autism Day. Our supporters include the Egyptian Suez Canal Authority, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, The Temple of Luxor, Karnak Temple, 57357 Hospital, Cairo Tower, and Qasr al-Aini hospital, the building of the American University in Cairo, the JW Marriott Cairo Mirage City, and City Stars Mall.
