On the 25th of April, Egypt’s public relations landscape made history at the Narrative Summit 2025. Egypt reached this milestone with the launch of the country’s first national Public Relations Association, which is the first of its kind in North Africa. Lamia Kamel, founder of Narrative Summit and managing director of CC Plus, made the announcement proudly.
With five leading PR agencies uniting for such a groundbreaking initiative under one board, Egypt’s membership in the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, which is the international federation that represents the global PR profession, was successfully secured. Let’s dive in and see how Egypt made History in April 2025.
The First North African Nation to Join The Global Alliance
Kamel emphasized that Egypt’s inclusion in the Global Alliance marks it as the first North African nation to join. This marks a step toward empowering the PR community, elevating professional standards, and amplifying Egypt’s narrative locally and now globally.
“This milestone unifies our industry to support national growth and build a platform for collaboration, learning, and excellence,” Kamel stated. This announcement was a delightful highlight of the Narrative Summit of 2025.
The summit was held at Somabay, which is a gem that lies on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. Furthermore, the event was attended by Global Alliance leaders, including President and CEO Professor Justin Green, board member Irene Lungu Chipili, and Steven Shepperson-Smith. During the summit’s closing ceremony, Shepperson-Smith presented Kamel with Egypt’s official Global Alliance membership certificate, joined by Chipili and prominent Egyptian PR leaders Dr. Halim Abou Seif, CEO of Rada PR, and Mai Abaza, CEO of Publicist Inc.
The Precious Weight of The Moment
Lamia Kamel reflected on the significance of the moment. Moreover, she stated, “One of the greatest legacies of the Narrative Summit is the belief that everyone is a storyteller. Now, we’re building an army of storytellers to share modern Egypt’s story with the world.” The new association aims to raise awareness of PR’s value. Something that was more than needed in Egypt. Additionally, it aims to empower young talent through comprehensive training and launch initiatives to promote a stronger, more accurate image of Egypt.
Detailing the Association’s Mission Along With Global Alliance Partnership
The Egyptian Public Relations Association’s founding board includes industry pioneers: Dr. Halim Abou Seif (Rada PR), Lamia Kamel (CC Plus), Mai Abaza (Publicist Inc.), Mohamed Abdelkader (Influence Communications), and Rania Azab (4PR Group). Furthermore, Kamel announced an upcoming press conference. One that aims to detail the association’s mission and its Global Alliance partnership.
The ninth edition of the Narrative Summit, themed “Egypt Reset,” was held under the sponsorship of the Ministers of Planning and Economic Development, Youth and Sports, Investment, Tourism, and the Red Sea Governor. This successful private sector-led event brought together senior officials, industry experts, and global business leaders. That is, to discuss Egypt’s evolving narrative thoroughly and lead it to a better future.
