Egypt looking forward to host 2032 Olympics in Cairo

In the Olympics’ rich history, it has never been held in an African country. Cairo, Egypt has what it takes to become the next city for this prestigious title. Cairo’s location near the Nile River will provide an excellent place for the Olympic competitions.

Egypt is one of the most history-rich countries in the world and with its new advancements; the country now has the perfect mix of modernization and history. With more than 5,000 years of culture and tradition as well as its magnificent sports enthusiasm Egypt with its capital Cairo envisages hosting major sport events in the course of a medium to long term development strategy.

According to El Balad, Eng. Farag Amer، Chairman of the Committee of Youth and Sports، the House of Representatives، said that the Committee seeks to host the version of 2032 Olympic Games in Egypt. He added that this bid will be implemented through coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Amer revealed that the new administrative capital will host games، as an African capital should organize it.
Amer stressed that Egypt has the right to enjoy leadership of the African sports to organize this global event، which will create thousands of jobs، attracts attention to Egypt and help to promote tourism.

Cairo was going to build the world’s biggest Olympic Park for 2008 Olympics

Beijing was elected as the host city for the 2008 Summer Olympics on 13 July 2001, during the 112th IOC Session in Moscow, defeating bids from Toronto, Paris, Istanbul, and Osaka. Prior to the session, five other cities (Bangkok, Cairo, Havana, Kuala Lumpur, and Seville) had submitted bids to the IOC, but failed to make the short list chosen by the IOC Executive Committee in 2000.

In the second round, Beijing was supported by a majority of voters, eliminating the need for subsequent rounds. Toronto’s bid was their 5th failure since 1960 (failed bid for 1960, 1964, 1976 and 1996 games).

While Olympic bidding is not seems to be a top priority in Egypt these days, Cairo is capable of organizing one of the most spectacular Olympics of all times.
