Egypt has quarter of Arab world's Facebook users

[dropcap style=”2″ color=”#f50a0a” text=”W”]ith over 13 million Facebook users, Egypt has the largest number of Facebook users in the Arab World, but with a very low penetration of 16.17%. According to internet tracker and monitor Africa Online, Egypt had exactly 13,010,580 Facebook users as of March 2013.

Although the country has the highest number of users, its penetration lies only at 16.17% of its population, making it the 12th most penetrated country in the region. Qatar – for instance – has a Facebook penetration of 78.66%, followed by the United Arab Emirates at 67.75%.

From May 2012 till March 2013, Egypt’s Facebook users have increased by 22.24%
