Almentor, an e-learning platform focused on Arabic language, has secured $10 million in a Pre-Series C funding round, which was led by e& Capital, the technology investment division of e&. The investment round also included participation from existing investors, such as Partech, Sawari Ventures, Egypt Ventures, Sango Capital, and Endure Capital.
The funding will be used to further the company’s investment in the business-to-consumer (B2C) sector and to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia, as it strives to reach its goal of serving 10 million learners in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
It is worth mentioning that the Almentor Platform targets a large sector of learners with approximately 400 million Arabic speakers who suffer from a lack of educational services.
The Arab region continues to face a decline in expenditure and investment in education, with a high percentage of students compared to teachers, up to 16.5% in the United Arab Emirates. 19.6% in Saudi Arabia, 24.2% in Egypt, compared to 15.1% in the United States and the United Kingdom. Therefore, Al-Mansour works to bridge this gap by providing accessible education and enabling learners to achieve career development and prepare for the labour market.
Almentor platform has collaborated with more than 950 trainers since 2016, to create more than 1,000 online trainings for individuals, companies, and government bodies. It also recently launched the monthly and annual subscription plans to facilitate learners’ access to the Almentor digital video library, which has more than 700 training courses on various topics such as health, humanities, technology, entrepreneurship, business administration, drama and sport, institutional communication, digital media and more.
