Amid the exceptional success of business reality shows, many have been striving for this type of content. This is due to its authenticity and how it drives both inspiration and excitement for viewers. Now, one of the most known things about Egyptians is their cuisine. So, imagine blending the thrill of competition and the rich culture of Egyptian cuisine. You will get “Million Pound Menu,” the new Egyptian version.

The Idea Behind Million Pound Menu

Million Pound Menu is a show that will combine two things that most Egyptians get excited about: food and watching the thrill of turning dreams into reality. It will allow aspiring restaurant owners and food entrepreneurs to showcase their creative ideas and hopeful dreams. They can present the pitches for unique restaurant ideas or food businesses to secure an investment that can give them a head start.

However, the concept of food and restaurants doesn’t disregard the business side. All the contestants will have to demonstrate a powerful business plan, a unique selling point, and potential. This will set them apart and allow them to take a step toward being the next big success in the culinary world.

Launching The Show in Egypt and The MENA: A Partnership with MBC Media Solutions and Innovative Media Productions

On December 4, 2024, Innovative Media Productions (IMP), the leading production company in Egypt, announced signing their partnership with MBC Media Solutions to launch the Egyptian version of the English reality show, Million Pound Menu. The show will be the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East. The partnership also included a collaboration with Marakez, a well-known real estate company. The show will be hosted at District 5, their newest project in New Cairo.

The new show will be launched exclusively on all MBC channels as well as Shahid. It will consist of 11 episodes, aired weekly, and will feature 33 contestants showcasing their mega ideas before a specialized panel of judges and investors.

The program also comes in cooperation with a group of leading companies in various fields, including Vodafone, PepsiCo, ALEXBANK, Foodics, Juhayna, BMW, Mobica, Concrete, and many more.

Ahmed Luxor, CEO and Co-Founder of IMP, said, “I am thrilled to be part of this inspiring journey. The ‘Million Pound Menu’ is more than just a competition. It is a launch pad for a new generation of entrepreneurs who will transform the F&B industry in Egypt. It is an excellent opportunity for anyone dreaming of turning their passion into a successful venture. I anticipate seeing innovative ideas and promising projects to enrich the Egyptian and Arab F&B sector.”

Mr. Waleed El-Essawey, Managing Director of MBC Media Solutions (MMS) office in Egypt, expressed his thrill with this partnership, stating that it aims to give entrepreneurs the medium to develop their innovations and inspire them to take more steps towards achieving success. He also stated that it contributes to developing the food and beverages sector by enhancing the quality of products and services provided in the sector.

A Taste of the Future: Culinary Stars in the Making

After the mega success of “Shark Tank,” which is also produced by IMP, we sit on the edge of our seats to see what could unfold in the Million Pound Menu. From the showcase of innovation and passion to the entrepreneurial spirit, restaurant owners and food entrepreneurs will certainly fuel the competition with exciting possibilities that will present the real food scene.
