Today’s tech world has a habit of always moving fast. Blink once, updates are there; twice, and you’ll start flying. There is always a new update somewhere that is making the old one feel like an old phone model. However, is this the case with ChatGPT’s new model? Some say the update is grand; others say it has minor enhancements. This is where I enlighten you from our perspective and let you in on knowing whether or not the update is major or whether it adds something small to the AI innovation world. Let’s break it all down.

Contents
  • 1. Memory Recall With Context
  • 2. Enhanced Human-Based Suggestions
  • 3. Better in Coding
  • 4. Shorter Answers
  • 5. Multimodal Magic
  • 6- Updated Health Information
  • Comprehensive Comparison Table
  • Final Thoughts

1. Memory Recall With Context

One of the noticeable updates from ChatGPT-4 to ChatGPT-5 is how much more context the model can remember and work with. How much the model is capable of taking in complex ideas and simplifying them into digestible content. The so-called “memory” of the new model ChatGPT-5 is enhanced. It can easily and more professionally recall the context your conversation had and has the ability to continue the conversation and write with context even days after you leave it. ChatGPT-4 had that too; however, sometimes it may deviate from the initial context you were talking about. The new model is ideal for complex projects and for long brainstorming sessions.

2. Enhanced Human-Based Suggestions

I’ll have to say that I don’t find AI models sounding human at all. Yes, we were all surprised by them, and no, after a while I myself got used to how it has a certain tone. However, breaking down the tone of voice, I’d say that the new model doesn’t differ that much from its predecessor. The only difference noticed by reviewers is how ChatGPT-5 has the capability of matching your tone or rather remembering it. If you’re having a conversation with the AI tool, you may find better human-like suggestions. Like, “Would you rather I write this in a way that is a tad bit fun, like you always ask me to?” I myself liked that very much. It picks up your tone of voice in a smarter and faster way than ChatGPT-4.

3. Better in Coding

OpenAI has always been a pusher when it comes to enhancing their AI model to code in the best possible way. With each AI leap, models tend to compete in order to become the go-to tool for developers. OpenAI is calling GPT-5 their most capable coding assistant. Especially when it comes to front-end creations like the visual sides of apps or websites. Additionally, the model is said to have the capability of tackling complex debugging tasks as well. Compared to its predecessor, GPT-5 can generate fully functional websites, apps, or even games from a single prompt. Early users have noticed that its designs provide cleaner styling, sharper layouts, and more polished typography than GPT-4.

4. Shorter Answers

If you’re one who didn’t like how comprehensive GPT-4 was, you’d definitely like GPT-5. After trying it, individuals found that it provides them with shorter answers. Some saw that it was more brief and straight to the point. Others perceived its short answers as something that’s missing compared to GPT-4. However, if you ask the newest model for details, it will gladly provide you with them. The question here is would it be as repetitive as before? Or will it actually provide further useful details with value?

5. Multimodal Magic

This is where things take a more fun approach and a nice twist. ChatGPT-4 got immersed in image and text understanding, but ChatGPT-5 is leaning into the concept of multimodality. This means that it has the ability to handle text, images, and even more complex formats with better and faster synergy. According to Sam Altman, GPT-5 moves from talking to a school student to a “PhD-level” professor.

6- Updated Health Information

When people started relying on AI search engines for searching health-related topics, symptoms, or even general medical knowledge, ethics and credibility started getting questioned. However, GPT-5 is one of the most capable entries seen so far, according to its score on HealthBench. This is a test using real-world scenarios and physician-set standards. The new model scored well above GPT-4. It now acts more like an engaged thought partner, spotting possible concerns and asking the right follow-up questions.

Comprehensive Comparison Table

Feature ChatGPT-4 ChatGPT-5
Context Length Limited, occasional forgetfulness Significantly longer memory, better recall
Tone Adaptability Good, but sometimes generic Highly adaptive
Knowledge Coverage Broad, occasional gaps Broader and deeper
Reasoning Skills Strong but lacks variety More logical, varied problem-solving suggestions
Multimodality Basic text and image understanding Enhanced multimodal capabilities
Speed May be occasionally slow on long prompts Noticeably faster but mainly shorter responses
Personalization Limited personalization Improved personalization

Final Thoughts

ChatGPT-5 is not considered a jaw-dropping release. However, it’s a clear step up where it counts. It’s faster, more reliable, better at coding and health information, and sharper in creative work. With improved voice mode and fewer AI hallucinations, it feels more confident and trustworthy. And while the jury’s still out on how it’ll stack up against Grok or Gemini, it’s a strong contender for the top spot at the moment in the current AI tool market.
