Almost all creatives go through times when they lose passion and suffer from a mind-block, especially writers. People who work in the writing field, whether content creators, content writers, scriptwriters, etc, can suddenly feel that they are incapable of writing or expressing what they feel. Writers express their emotions and ideas through words, so, what happens is that they suddenly can’t even form a single sentence.

This is why today we will tell you how to be passionate about writing again.

1- Watch/Read Something Inspirational

Movies, articles, and books can be a huge source of inspiration, especially movies that are based on books.

Sometimes you lose passion for writing due to the lack of ideas; not knowing what to write about can be demotivating. So, all you need is something to trigger your creativity and drive different kinds of emotions into you, reading and watching something can do that. Reading or watching something is like inserting data into your mind, this will result in generating ideas later, which can make you start writing again.

2- Connect With Others

Seek other writers and discuss their work and share your thoughts with your acquaintances.

You can talk to your colleagues or anyone who’s in the same career about their source of inspiration, discuss their work and ideas or search for groups on social media platforms that are dedicated to writers and read the writers’ posts and start an open discussion. Also, talking to people and listening to them telling stories, whether about their work or social life can help you connect with them, which can also help you generate ideas for topics to write about.

3- Start Asking Yourself Questions

Sometimes the best way to start writing again is to ask yourself questions and start answering them.

If you’re not inspired by watching something or connecting with others, then you can start asking yourself a few questions. For example, you can ask yourself about the things you love the most about your friends, your favorite memory, what you like and dislike about society, how you view your job, or about work-life.

Answering questions is another way of triggering your emotions towards something, either about your social life or work, which will make you start writing as you will be stating your opinion on something.

4- “Why Did I Start Writing?” Ask Yourself That

Try to remember what made you want to be a writer.

We all got into this career for a reason, some of us wanted to leave a positive impact and change someone’s life through writing, while others wanted to do it to express themselves and their ideas. Which one are you?

Whatever your answer is, let it motivate you, you started this career and worked hard to build it, it won’t be easy to give everything up when in doubt. Focus on the effort you have been doing to build your career and your accomplishments whether from writing articles, advertisement copies, and books, to even creating social media posts. Looking at your career and accomplishments from someone else’s point of view might remind you why you started writing in the first place.

5- Talk To Someone

There’s nothing wrong with seeking help, in fact, you might find out that there’s a very simple solution that will help you.

Talk to your colleagues or your friends about the problem, they can provide you with a solution you didn’t think of due to how you feel, or the idea of them listening to you can make feel a little bit of relief. You can also post your problem on social media groups that are dedicated to writers to see how other people dealt with this problem.

6- Did You Lose Passion For Writing In General Or For Certain Topics?

Writing repeatedly under the same theme can be the reason why you don’t wanna work.

Some people can lose passion for doing the same thing over and over again, in other words, you can be a content creator or a writer who only writes about one specific industry like F&B, lifestyle, or the medical area. This can cause frustration especially if it is not your favorite industry or favorite type of writing.

What you can do here is change the job not the career, you can try writing about different types of topics to test your passion, and probably, you will feel passionate again.

Sometimes losing passion can be just a phase, don’t give up to easily, and always remember why you chose writing and creativity in general.
